　　Marco de Baar, the head of the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research, DIFFER and full professor in the Control Systems Technology department of Eindhoven University of Technology. His main research interest is model plasma control.

　　摘要：

　　A quick overview of the nuclear fusion program at DIFFER will be shown. Then, the tokamak control challenge and relevant concepts from Systems and Control will be introduced. Special emphasis will be put on the need for control oriented models for controller synthesis and optimization, and real time data analysis. The plasma control system will be broken-down in 4 control domains and we will discuss model based controllers for these domains as well as present a few pointers as to how to develop a supervisory controller.
