　　SOLPS-ITER is a powerful tool to study the plasma edge and to understand better the physics in this region. In this talk an overview will be given of which problems (and possible solutions) are faced frequently when using SOLPS-ITER to model EAST. Especially, problems with the generation of grids for EAST with SOLPS-ITER will be highlighted (both in single null and double null configuration) and difficulties about including drifts in the simulations are discussed.
